Great moments in music BOOOOO history....Of course the most famous is Dylan going electric at the Newport Folk Fest. Then several years later after breaking his neck and coming back with a countrified sound, even hanging with JC (Jesus Christ comes later. This was Johnny Cash) He was booed again. Then when hitting his gospel stride (why did people freak? He recorded Gospel Plow on His first album! He has always been a Jesus man.) Its funny, during a press conference in '66he said something to the effect of " I wish I had enough money to go boo people". A wise man indeed.
The next greatest moment in booing is whatI have been watching. In 1982 Stevie Ray Vaughn play the Montreaux jazz festival. It was a hot set that any blues fan would walk in on and vibrate on the way out. Despite that he was viciously booed. Undaunted the band played on. Hit me Sly! So the second dvd in the set is from Montreaux 1985. As the band hits the stage one of the players says "three years ago tomorrow". Stevie hits the stage cooler than liquid nitrogen and proceeds to lay on a case of freezer burn such as has never been seen even to this day. Along wit hStevie you get to see Johnny Clyde Copeland,a blues great and father to that smoking hot broad Shameka. Get the dvd set and toss a few back and shake, rattle and roll.
As for Stevie...died too young. I got to see him a few times, the last of which was a couple months before he died. On that fateful day in August of 1990I quit my job and got smacked up. Oh well, live and learn.Just like music fans. No, good music fans.
