Tonite will be the airing of last episode of American Chopper. It is really unfortunate, for this show has not only introduced the world to custom motorcycles, but also various charities which many may have never known existed.(more about my thoughts on charities in the coming days) The sad thing is that what brought it down was family differences. Paul Sr. took himself from the cellar to the penthouse and brought his children along for the ride. Expecting him to be a father and not a boss at the work site, Paul Jr would often do his own thing and expect no ramifications. That is not too surprising for there are people like that in every work environment. Eventually Jr got fed up with the bickering and left to start his own business. Now we have seen how much of an ingrate he has been to this point, but he shows his lack of appreciation for how his father has helped him out even more by not acknowledging the helping hand he has been given.
Both Mikey and Paul Jr have nice houses paid for by the money they earned while working with their father. Multiple custom made bikes from Orange County Choppers. Now they also have their faces out there and foots in the doors of any businesses due to being followed by cameras and also due to.....their father. Hopefully one day they will look back and realize that Sr wasn't responsible for all the disputes, remember the good times, and recognize their father as having given them a head start.
