I'm not sure if you have had the pleasure of seeing the commercials for this movement that is being pushed by the USA network. It shows people in white t-shirts that say "I won't stand for _____" and the people write in various things they wont tolerate such as racism, discrimination...I really cant remember all of them but essentially it is the usual laundry list. The one that is missing, and most importantly the ad should finish up with is "I wont stand for people who won't stand for differing opinions". It is a rehashing of the Bob Dylan line from "Its Alright Ma" that goes "Some say they don't hate anything at all except hatred." Don't make excuses for the PC people. The only thing they think should be tolerated are their beliefs. To all these groovy hipsters you would think dissenting opinions would be welcomed. I don't like tattoos or excessive piercings yet some of my best friends have them. We don't need to agree on everything with everyone and if they're not getting violent big deal. Speak your minds, agree to disagree and get on with it. It is funny how people always connect hate with negativity but without hate/intolerance this country would not have been founded. Now we look at this land and see how far we have deviated from what our founding fathers had in mind, individual rights and freedoms.

Some more things I wont stand for; Mob Mentality, Occupy protesters costing cities/taxpayers millions, Illegal Immigrants, Lemmings, Drum circles without Fifes, White people with dreadlocks. If you don't like what I wont stand for thats alright with me. In fact I welcome you to hate it. Hate me even, it really doesn't matter. I hope you don't mind standing in a long line. I really cant waste my life trying to force others to believe as I do.

Cockeyed Cooper Uinta Bourbon Barrel Barley Wine

For todays mental distraction...

I started with doing the ABC's of mens names that are song titles. It was a much bigger challenge than the womens names. I surrendered my rules of its just being the name as the title and went with the name as part of the title. It was still a great task. One that I will work on again Monday. Speaking of song titles, names, and other randomness, I went out for a bike ride today and as is always the case was listening to the Dead, Alpine Valley 8/7/82, a great show which I highly recommend. As I was mid way through the song "Ramble On Rose" three quarters of the way up a hill singing along at the top of my lungs (gotta love riding in the desert) the lines in my ears and on my tongue were "The grass aint greener the wine aint sweeter either side of the hill". Riding up hill is taxing on the lungs. Riding up hill and singing is a tax increase. Riding up hill, singing, and laughing is obamanomics in action.

ABC's

I don't talk to anyone while I'm at work so to keep my mind occupied I come up with inane problems to solve. While being aurally attacked with yap yap yap from all directions today I decided to go through the alphabet and see if I could come up with a song whose title is a womans name for each letter. Although I sit here at a computer I refuse to google potential song title/names for the letters I fell short on, those being F,P (HeyHey Paula doesn't work because it has a womans name in the title, it is not the title) Q,T,U,X,Y, and Z. I'm not sure which is sadder, my job or the fact that I cant even come up with a womans name starting with Q or Z. Actually there are so many sad things here. We'll see what tomorrow brings.

What The Duck

About a year ago I came up with an idea for yet another animated show for adults. As you may have surmised it would be called "What The Duck". It is about a duck named What that works at a cable news network called MSNFX. Obviously it is a show that that pokes fun at channels such as MSNBC and FOX news and the pandering to their particular audience with all disregard to the truth. I can't remember all the characters I had at the time but the line up will contain Whats counterpart Matt Cow. One of Whats catch phrases will be in regards to Matt Cows editorials, "and thus starts the spread of another epidemic of Matt Cow disease". Covering the arts will be a cat named Claudette Pussy (get it? Claude Debussy). The food critic will be either a deer named William F Buckley or Will B Grazin the meat loving deer who was raised by nut job vegetarians, and possibly a moose called Chuck Rhett Moose. I had sports, business, and weather characters but have since forgotten them. Should have written this down at the time.

All that being said, have you noticed how nauseating Fox and MSNBC are? Even if you agree with what either of them are saying their arrogant attitudes detract from their messages. Think about it, Fox has/had Beck, O'reily, Hannity, while MSN had their mirror images Oberman, Mathews, and Maddow. They are exactly the same. It is the Harpo Marx mirror without a mirror act. Another thing they have in common is never responding to my emails. What the Duck!?!

Perfect Timing

It was just after eight on Saturday morning when I was spinning in circles in the refrigerated aisle at Albertsons searching for the unfindable. There was no one anywhere to ask for assistance. Extremely aggravated my mood changed in an instance. I heard the opening sustained note of a very familiar song. What I'm sure appeared to be a stupid/psychotic smile spread across my face. Then the opening words chimed in, "There is a town in north Ontario". The smile got even more maniacal when the refrain of "Helpless Helpless Helpless" rolled around. It summed up the moment and the last few months.

It is funny how realizing you are helpless can be such a joyous occasion.
