HANDS UP and they DONT SHOOT
I know, pretty shocking, Free coming in defense of the police, but man I saw something the other day that really pissed me off. Up in Salt Lake City there were people protesting police violence (if memory serves me well there were more deaths by cop in UT than any other state) and this wannabe hippy had a sign that read "blue lives don't matter". First off, hippy died and was buried in Golden Gate Park in 1967 so get over yourself buddy. Second, every life matters. We are all somebody to someone whether we realize it or not. Also, I may have missed it, but I haven't seen any video in which a person who was following police commands was shot or beaten. I agree that it was excessive force for selling loosies, but had the man consented he would still be alive. Who am I to speak? Well I have been the one who didn't listen and gotten taken down by four cops as well as one who had the guns pulled on him and immediately stopped. Everyone who has lived outside the law knows that it is a gamble and that there are certain ramifications for every action we take. I don't have much sympathy for those who have died, but feel deeply for the families they left behind. It is no different than being a junkie. Your actions and thoughts are only about yourself and you leave family and friends to grieve. Where is Rodney King when you need him? "Can't we all just get along?"

Singles Ward and Goal Dates
So I was just talking with a friend of mine and he tells me I should go check out the singles ward. For those who are not mormon or are unfamiliar with them, wards are essentially designated neighborhoods for assigning which church people are to go to equal to a parish in the catholic church. It seems as tho those 18 and over who are single go to...the singles ward to find their mate. The fish in a barrel philosophy or the island of misfit mormons. (for those to lazy to attend there is lds-singles.com) I had to chuckle a little bit. To me it is just so sad that people are forced, well not forced, but coerced into taking steps that may not be for them. My chuckle turned into a full blown guffaw when I was told about the goal date. Apparently before going out on there missions to earn more money for the church (the real roots of the modern lds church) they sit down with the ward idiot and set a goal date for when they are to get married. Its not a set in stone date, but a lot of pressure on the mind of an immature adult. Suddenly everything made sense, including the craigslist post from the 24 y/o girl that is looking for another man or a woman, the high suicide rate, and the massive prescription drug addiction in this state.
So why do I think it is all about money? During the last semi annual conference one of the speakers was talking about Jesus' illustration of trees that produce good fruit and those that produce rotten fruit. As I see it the rotten tree is the lds church. In my life I have been in a lot of bad scenes and even several jails, yet it took moving to St George to meet some of the most vile people I've ever met, including THE MOST VILE person. After the conference many church members commented that the church leaders are too old and out of touch with the modern world. As far as I know people are supposed to change to live in accord with the beliefs of their church not try to force the church to adapt to their lifestyles. Now this is where the money comes in. A church should be willing to lose members if the don't want to follow its tenants. This however would create a great loss in revenue if a large portion were to stop tithing. On the other side of that coin you have those weak people who are unwilling to leave the church and put on a front while living a double life. Now when I say weak I don't just mean spiritually weak, but weak in character. Instead of leaving they bring down the church because they would lose their business connections and any social status they feel they have. Please keep in mind that there are some genuinely sincere, kind hearted people in the lds church. That is why I feel they need to shake the bad fruit out of the tree if they want people/me to show any respect towards their organization. Plus reading their bibles and following Jesus' example of staying out of politics and allowing people to make their own decisions would go a long way. If they are going to stay in politics and try to pass laws to control other peoples lives I just have this to throw out there on the subject of legalizing marijuana. God made it, man made it illegal. You tell me which is wiser.
Come on Hinkley, answer that in a one word answer.

Someone out there loves me and its starting to piss me off
Yes I know, I am the only one who could get upset over such a thing. Well here's the thing. The other morning I stepped out to go where ever I was going only to find an xmas gift on my porch. Hmm. The next morning the same thing. I decided to leave a note for the giver that said....I'm glad you're not a Rottweiler, and you may have the wrong apt, this is the home of Paul who doesn't celebrate xmas. That being said I am not the type to prevent others from exercising their beliefs or following their hearts...the next day there was another gift with a card that now used my name and substituted festivus for xmas. I do know this much, there is mormon involvement (I saw one of the ladies and her knocking at my door is what pissed me off) and I have it narrowed down to three people but am pretty certain of the actual culprit as I feel one would be too wrapped up in herself and the other has her children and probably grandchildren to tend to as well.
Either way I appreciate people doing what they do provided they don't infringe upon others way of life/beliefs. The best gift the mormons could give people is staying out of politics, (Jesus did) and being open to hiring non church members who are qualified for a job. To keep it short, seek truth. I always tell the one girl who is extremely hot,(the one too wrapped up in herself) seek truth, you'll find beauty. Its funny, I have no reason to, but I love her anyway.
Does any of this make sense?

More insight on St George
Having more than my fair share of spare moments lately I thought I'd check out what's happening in town by checking out craigslist. Below is a post I found humorously sad and so typical of this area. I'm surprised that at 24 she is still not married. It is usually no later than 21. I'm sure I needn't tell you what her real problem is. It breaks my heart.
Missing something - 24 (Hurricane)
Hi there! I am 24, very friendly and outgoing, and I am engaged. But our relationship is seriously lacking in any type of affection. I miss the flirting, cuddling, making out, and everything else. I'm not really looking to change my situation, just someone to fill the void. Someone I can have an awesome friendship with that involves a little more. I don't particularly care about looks, I prefer someone over 22 but under 40. Maybe taller then 5'8 as well lol :-) if you are interested I would love to hear from you! Put your favorite color in the subject so I know you are real!!
...and yes I did respond. My favorite color in the subject space: all colors. Haven't heard back from her though she desperately needs me. But wait there's more. This next one has to be from the same women only this time I was looking under women seeking women.

hey there! I am 24 and engaged, my fiance is going out of town this weekend. I really miss being with a woman just the entire experience. I'm looking for somebody to hopefully spend some time with and play with a little bit this weekend... If you're interested I would love to hear from you. Age isn't really an issue for me as long as you're over 18 and under 50... I'm 5 foot 9 and I am Plus size so I do like curvy girls as well. looks don't really matter to me, just be disease and drug free. I'm really hoping craigslist doesnt disappoint lol hope to hear from you soon and please no couples no guys.

Who needs a miracle when you've got a box of rain?
What a great morning. Woke up and turned on the t.v. to the classic rock channel only to hear BOX OF RAIN by the Grateful Dead. Now I pull into McD's to use the Wi-Fi and BOX OF RAIN is on the radio. Coincidently one of my tie designs is called "Box of rain and tears". I hope this means something other than more rain and tears in my life.
