HANDS UP and they DONT SHOOT
I know, pretty shocking, Free coming in defense of the police, but man I saw something the other day that really pissed me off. Up in Salt Lake City there were people protesting police violence (if memory serves me well there were more deaths by cop in UT than any other state) and this wannabe hippy had a sign that read "blue lives don't matter". First off, hippy died and was buried in Golden Gate Park in 1967 so get over yourself buddy. Second, every life matters. We are all somebody to someone whether we realize it or not. Also, I may have missed it, but I haven't seen any video in which a person who was following police commands was shot or beaten. I agree that it was excessive force for selling loosies, but had the man consented he would still be alive. Who am I to speak? Well I have been the one who didn't listen and gotten taken down by four cops as well as one who had the guns pulled on him and immediately stopped. Everyone who has lived outside the law knows that it is a gamble and that there are certain ramifications for every action we take. I don't have much sympathy for those who have died, but feel deeply for the families they left behind. It is no different than being a junkie. Your actions and thoughts are only about yourself and you leave family and friends to grieve. Where is Rodney King when you need him? "Can't we all just get along?"

Singles Ward and Goal Dates
So I was just talking with a friend of mine and he tells me I should go check out the singles ward. For those who are not mormon or are unfamiliar with them, wards are essentially designated neighborhoods for assigning which church people are to go to equal to a parish in the catholic church. It seems as tho those 18 and over who are single go to...the singles ward to find their mate. The fish in a barrel philosophy or the island of misfit mormons. (for those to lazy to attend there is lds-singles.com) I had to chuckle a little bit. To me it is just so sad that people are forced, well not forced, but coerced into taking steps that may not be for them. My chuckle turned into a full blown guffaw when I was told about the goal date. Apparently before going out on there missions to earn more money for the church (the real roots of the modern lds church) they sit down with the ward idiot and set a goal date for when they are to get married. Its not a set in stone date, but a lot of pressure on the mind of an immature adult. Suddenly everything made sense, including the craigslist post from the 24 y/o girl that is looking for another man or a woman, the high suicide rate, and the massive prescription drug addiction in this state.
So why do I think it is all about money? During the last semi annual conference one of the speakers was talking about Jesus' illustration of trees that produce good fruit and those that produce rotten fruit. As I see it the rotten tree is the lds church. In my life I have been in a lot of bad scenes and even several jails, yet it took moving to St George to meet some of the most vile people I've ever met, including THE MOST VILE person. After the conference many church members commented that the church leaders are too old and out of touch with the modern world. As far as I know people are supposed to change to live in accord with the beliefs of their church not try to force the church to adapt to their lifestyles. Now this is where the money comes in. A church should be willing to lose members if the don't want to follow its tenants. This however would create a great loss in revenue if a large portion were to stop tithing. On the other side of that coin you have those weak people who are unwilling to leave the church and put on a front while living a double life. Now when I say weak I don't just mean spiritually weak, but weak in character. Instead of leaving they bring down the church because they would lose their business connections and any social status they feel they have. Please keep in mind that there are some genuinely sincere, kind hearted people in the lds church. That is why I feel they need to shake the bad fruit out of the tree if they want people/me to show any respect towards their organization. Plus reading their bibles and following Jesus' example of staying out of politics and allowing people to make their own decisions would go a long way. If they are going to stay in politics and try to pass laws to control other peoples lives I just have this to throw out there on the subject of legalizing marijuana. God made it, man made it illegal. You tell me which is wiser.
Come on Hinkley, answer that in a one word answer.

Someone out there loves me and its starting to piss me off
Yes I know, I am the only one who could get upset over such a thing. Well here's the thing. The other morning I stepped out to go where ever I was going only to find an xmas gift on my porch. Hmm. The next morning the same thing. I decided to leave a note for the giver that said....I'm glad you're not a Rottweiler, and you may have the wrong apt, this is the home of Paul who doesn't celebrate xmas. That being said I am not the type to prevent others from exercising their beliefs or following their hearts...the next day there was another gift with a card that now used my name and substituted festivus for xmas. I do know this much, there is mormon involvement (I saw one of the ladies and her knocking at my door is what pissed me off) and I have it narrowed down to three people but am pretty certain of the actual culprit as I feel one would be too wrapped up in herself and the other has her children and probably grandchildren to tend to as well.
Either way I appreciate people doing what they do provided they don't infringe upon others way of life/beliefs. The best gift the mormons could give people is staying out of politics, (Jesus did) and being open to hiring non church members who are qualified for a job. To keep it short, seek truth. I always tell the one girl who is extremely hot,(the one too wrapped up in herself) seek truth, you'll find beauty. Its funny, I have no reason to, but I love her anyway.
Does any of this make sense?

More insight on St George
Having more than my fair share of spare moments lately I thought I'd check out what's happening in town by checking out craigslist. Below is a post I found humorously sad and so typical of this area. I'm surprised that at 24 she is still not married. It is usually no later than 21. I'm sure I needn't tell you what her real problem is. It breaks my heart.
Missing something - 24 (Hurricane)
Hi there! I am 24, very friendly and outgoing, and I am engaged. But our relationship is seriously lacking in any type of affection. I miss the flirting, cuddling, making out, and everything else. I'm not really looking to change my situation, just someone to fill the void. Someone I can have an awesome friendship with that involves a little more. I don't particularly care about looks, I prefer someone over 22 but under 40. Maybe taller then 5'8 as well lol :-) if you are interested I would love to hear from you! Put your favorite color in the subject so I know you are real!!
...and yes I did respond. My favorite color in the subject space: all colors. Haven't heard back from her though she desperately needs me. But wait there's more. This next one has to be from the same women only this time I was looking under women seeking women.

hey there! I am 24 and engaged, my fiance is going out of town this weekend. I really miss being with a woman just the entire experience. I'm looking for somebody to hopefully spend some time with and play with a little bit this weekend... If you're interested I would love to hear from you. Age isn't really an issue for me as long as you're over 18 and under 50... I'm 5 foot 9 and I am Plus size so I do like curvy girls as well. looks don't really matter to me, just be disease and drug free. I'm really hoping craigslist doesnt disappoint lol hope to hear from you soon and please no couples no guys.

Who needs a miracle when you've got a box of rain?
What a great morning. Woke up and turned on the t.v. to the classic rock channel only to hear BOX OF RAIN by the Grateful Dead. Now I pull into McD's to use the Wi-Fi and BOX OF RAIN is on the radio. Coincidently one of my tie designs is called "Box of rain and tears". I hope this means something other than more rain and tears in my life.

I caught you knocking at my cellar door
I know some of you are thinking all I like to do is bag on mormons, but if they didn't keep giving fuel I wouldn't add it to the fire. Really, google or youtube this story. A few weeks ago there was an 18 and over party at a place called Fiesta Fun Center here in St George UT. This was a non alcoholic event (of course) but the cops still came and shut it down because they did not have a permit to dance. It made national news and SNL even did a skit about it. So now that you know when I say I am living amongst very tiny minds you can believe me. But now to see who is at the cellar door.
As I had mentioned before, second only to the lds church, Utahs biggest problem is prescription medicine addiction. The doctors are pez dispensers lacking in concern and/or insight. Last Tuesday I was on my way to Mc D's to use the wifi. My friend and neighbor Tony asked if he could catch a ride. I went and used the internet and he hit the pharmacy, made our way back home and life went on. Four hours later I hear sirens in the distance that proceeded to get louder and louder. Then I saw lights flashing thru the blinds. I peeked thru a couple slats and saw a police car, two ambulances, and a fire truck. As I looked down I saw my old neighbor Brayden standing on the sidewalk. I stepped out onto the porch and asked him what was going on. "Tonys gone" was his response.
Tony had come out here about six months ago to kick heroin. He had succeeded and was working as a Mercedes mechanic and granite counter top installer. About five weeks ago he developed kidney stones, went to the doctor and was given scripts of morphine and Demerol, a common solution but usually kept in the hospital under observation. Any doctor worth his degree would be able to discern just thru a five minute interview that this man had issues. Add to that his arms which were still scarred with track marks and its a no brainer. Then after passing the kidney stones he some how managed to get another prescription, this time for kolonopin and aderol!? a combination that is essentially a pharmaceutical speedball of which I am pretty sure is the cause of death. Still no autopsy done. As much as it was his choice to use these drugs in a lethal manner no doctor dealing out such things should keep his license or his freedom. Just trying to remember if Michael Jackson's doctor avoided prison time. It makes me wonder if this doctor will notice that he is no longer getting visits from Tony. Or will he just pat himself on the back as a miracle worker?
This small minded mentality of these Utah mother fuckers "its legal" is old. No, its bullshit pig headedness hide behind the temple walls hypocrisy. Jesus said you can tell a tree by the fruit it produces. We need to pick a few of the bananas and then chop that tree down. The funny thing is at last months semi annual conference there was an outcry from church members that their leaders are out of touch. Talk about a house divided. Truly the reason most of the mormons here in St George are still with the church is because they are to weak to go out on their own.(in my opinion) They go to church but don't live by the principles of the church, staying only to keep their social/business connections/status. It is disrespectful to those decent people who adhere to the faith and live accordingly by it to remain clinging to its branches. It is also wrong on the part of the church to see so many of these people and allow them to remain in the church. But if you were to lose 50% of those giving 10% how do you not go bankrupt? I hear that so frequently, "Keep tithing and you will receive blessings". Makes me wonder what that BYU qb who had his leg snapped earlier in the season had been doing.
Just to clarify or muddle things, I had lunch with a mormon today, and went to Tony's memorial service at the house of another yesterday. I hate groups, love individuals...whether you want to believe it or not. The memorial was great. I'll tell you about it later.

Salt Lake Sinners
I don't know if any of you got to catch the episode of DRUGS INC on the Nat Geo channel, but it is very insightful when it comes to the mormon mind set. The fraudulence is even greater here in St George where there is less of a secular population. Essentially when it come to drugs this is what their actions say....If men make it we will take it, if the Creator creates it we'll create laws and forsake it. Joseph Smith would puke up his mushrooms if he knew what was going on.

Yank those visas
With all the debate about immigration reform I cant help but note that it seems in the midst of every debate is someone with a british or australian accent (as well as on many other programs). Are these the tired, poor, huddled masses we should be taking in? Send them back home, especially Simon Hobbs from CNBC. Typical nut suck. The only foreign workers that have done America any good were the German engineers and scientist during WWII.
And yes I used the word YANK intentionally

Would you hire this guy?
Position applied for: warehouse/shipping/receiving
Company: Tie One On (which is a Utah based company with six stores)
The applicants experience: Retail sales of men's suits/ties
Retail receiving dept. manager
Clothing manufacturer order filler
Supervised the set up of a 4000sq ft warehouse
Has aspirations of starting a line of men's neckwear
If you're wise you call the guy right away, if you're Mormon you discriminate and hire a useless, small minded piece of fuck. No, they never even met me so it couldn't be based on my looks or attitude. Yes I did verify that it is Mormon owned. This is common place around here. How they use Jesus Christ in their name I don't know. I see nothing Christian about these people. Just look at the way they meddle in politics. Before you piss and moan I'll say it, I'm a bigot. That being said I will still hold the few descent ones that I have known in high esteem. As for the rest, read your bible. That's actually the funniest/saddest thing, these people have disregarded the bible for the word of another man. What do you expect out of a "religion" founded by thieves and murderers? Sorry Madge and Scott, its in the history books, and there is a lot more proof to that than any golden tablets.

The Exclamation point
In his state of the state address Gov. Herbet said "It is time for Utahans to get over the hatred and bigotry". I hope he keeps that in mind when the question of marijuana legalization comes up.
